Hello. New to the site. Joined about 1 week ago. Been busy reading all the threads. Soaking up ideas, advice and maintenance tips like a sponge. Can you tell retired 71 year old.... Sharing some pics of my bought it new 2002 Cobalt 206. Sorry do not mean to brag. But she is my third child. People tell me it looks new. And if do not know about Cobalt brand they think just bought a boat. All original equipment except fuel pumps, gimble bearing and bellows. The fuel pump has been my pet peeve. On third one now. Discover it get paint chips in passages..... Now for my stupid question. Does the floor drains in corners in front of the bench seat have a tube or hose in the passage to the bilge. Or is it raw fiberglass tunnel. They work just curious. If nothing but raw passage way seems that could be a problem over the years. Thank You.

". . . it get paint chips in passages . . ."
That is your much bigger problem. You need to find the origin and cause of the flaking paint.
Congratulations on your purchase.

Re: New To Site Got Q About Floor Drains
Floor drains usually go to tubes, but I can't say with complete certainty that they made your particular boat that way. There have been problems with paint coming from certain vintage water pumps, but that's largely been solved and I haven't heard of a similar problem with fuel pumps. Please do keep us posted if you find out more!
