2024 R4 Bimini Issue

Post by dennison17 »

Does anyone else have issues with putting up the Bimini top on the newer R4's? I have the Bimini "Easy-Fold" and have the frame fully extended forward to give it as much extension as possible. The canvas opens and unfolds just fine, but I have to hang on the front supports in order to get them aligned and clipped in. And yes, I know the front supports are "adjustable". I have them fully extended in order to even get close to aligning the clip-in's and clicking them into the brackets mounted on the hull. It takes two adults each time.
The dealer says this is normal and the fabric will stretch over time, but it's been two years of occasional use and no sign of stretching.

Anyone else experience this? Any remedies?

Thanks!

My 2018 canvas (bimini and tanno covers) are significantly looser now than when new. Still functional and do their job...but wat easier to install vs a few years ago.

Also, Im sure you are doing it right, but with the tower on my R7 there is definitely a prescribed procedure to deploy or stow the canvas bimini. I leave mine deployed year around. Im in a wet slip and dont tow.
