Personally, I'd see if Cobalt would be willing to replace the Sof-Trac with Seagrass and call it square.
I had carpet in an older Cobalt and loved it, but with my new R4 carpet it was not available. I went for Seagrass and love it. Snaps in / out for cleaning, AND I don't have all those pesky footprints that appear on the Sof-Trac

Just FYI... if you decide to replace the Sof-Trac
I personally opted for the Seagrass on my new Cobalt R4. I found the Sof-Trac (on the rear transom) of my older Cobalt contunually needed cleaning. Dirty footprints, etc. were always bothersome when the rest of the flooring (carpet) was spotless.
WIth my new Cobalt, rug flooring was not an option so I went with Seagrass. I am SO glad I did. The Seagrass never seems to show the dirt / footprints, and the snap in/out allows me to just pull them up when needed.
