2017 R3 Helm Seat Base Cracked

I have a new to me 2017 R3 and noticed the helm seat was loose. When I raised the cushion, I could see that the plastic base was cracked (see attached photos). Cobalt is quoting over $3,000 for an entirely new helm seat. Does anyone have any knowledge of whether it is possible to purchase just the plastic shell and have an upholstery shop transfer the covering? I cannot find any information on who manufactured the plastic base for Cobalt.

Someone on here (slideruleracer?) has a kit to help repair certain older seats like this. Let me look for a bit...

Yep, the kit is the way to go. The only other option I know of is replacing the whole enchilada - we had the same issue under warranty, and they replaced the whole seat. Assuming they would have done less if possible.
