I know people asked similar question before. But do you guys think its worth change the original speakers in my boat? They are still working but in my opinion they sound a bit harsh and has always sounded harsh. I was thinking to swap them for JBL marine club speakers if decided to change.
Thank you all.

It depends a lot on what speaker you're coming from, and what you choose as a replacement. I've often found JBL's voicing can be harsh and elevated in the upper midrange, but I think it's a good sign that they have silk dome tweeters instead of metal. I've never heard the JBL marine speakers, but JL Audio are likely similar and a fine choice too. I listened to what was available when I upgraded mine and went with Roswell, but they're power-hungry enough that they may not be a great choice if you don't have a dedicated external amp.

Re: Sony MP-62
Thank you for your reply. Thats the tricky part I can not listen to different speakers anywhere. Well Im located in Sweden and JL is very expensive here. What I like about the JBL is that as you mentioned have a silk dome instead of the aluminum? dome the sony has. Not a guarantee but fore stereo speakers im usually like silk domes.
But its not that fun to spend 600USD and figure out its was pointless.

Wildwin, best bet is perhaps to have a conversation with James at CreativeAudio.net. He'll listen to what your application is, what your system and future plans look like, and what your preferences are, and make a good recommendation based on that. They carry lots of brands, JBL Marine and JL Audio Marine included. He'll probably also give you a nice discount off MAP or listed price if you say you're from Cobaltchat (check out their page on the forum sponsors subforum).Wilderwein wrote: Fri Sep 04, 2026 2:45 am Thank you for your reply.
