It’s open season on dirtbags...

Post by Tuscany »

Anyone ANYONE who is well known.. with skeletons in the closet better RUN for cover because the ladies are finally getting a voice, and are coming out without fear of retribution.
Good time to clean things up..

It’s sickening to think powerful scum bags like Weinstein and the like walk the streets.

This post isn't overtly political, but the thread has the potential to go there fast.

Just a reminder that there are enough other places on the Internet to argue over politics, and I'd prefer to keep it friendly and inclusive around here.

I might not know everything that is going on either. Don't watch a ton of news. But it's amazing to me how everything comes out 15 years later. It's like the gymnastic stuff too. I wish it would just come out right away. No it's not the normal. If you think it's wrong it's wrong.

I think this is current events instead of politics, or I’d just delete the post. But yeah, this kind of thing seems to come in waves. If Franken’s pretending to grab someone is the new standard, a lot of people could be swept up.

I used to be a news junkie. And now I can honestly say I haven't watched an entire news segment in over 10 years. In the evenings I work on my projects or ride my bike, shoot guns, or play music on a guitar or sax. Sometimes we just set by the fire on the patio and talk.

If something like war breaks out, or a major story.happens I'll hear about it anyway, but otherwise it's just drama I chose to ignore.

I can't do anything about it, so there is less frustration. Less worry.

Ytmsn, I hear you. My local news isn’t really even news anymore - they rush right by the actual facts so they can tell you who is offended, what you should think about it, etc. I usually feel like I am better off not watching too.

John hit the nail on the head with the current temperature of society. Aside from the gropers, it’s about who is suddenly offended. Everything is offensive to someone, and ofcourse the media runs with it and shines a light on the “victim”😩
Race, gender, age, whatever, someone now has the right to be off3nded by someone.

I got really into the political stuff around the election last year. Realized a couple months ago that reading all the posts on FB and the like were just making me angry. Unfollowed almost every political page I was on and stopped checking the news, now I see pictures of pets and kids and rockets (follow NASA and SpaceX) and boats and vacations, and it makes me happy. Decided I'm good just burying my head in the sand and coming up for a breath every now and then.

If these harassment claims are true it's good they are finally coming to light. I have to wonder though, if it was a traumatizing event, why did it not come out when it happened? And what the hell is wrong with people in the political and entertainment industries? Does it just draw a certain personality type?

(I can mention the word "politics" without being political right? Can we just go for a boat ride now?)

Without getting political, I try to stay far away from that stuff. Everyone has their vote, and I trying to change someone’s views is like tossing gas on a fire.
Problem is that this crap isn’t going away. In fact, it’s getting worse and more surreal by the day. Toss in other people abusing control over their industries, and I wonder where the American conscience has gone?

No wonder get-away from reality industries like boating, RVing and other disconnecting activities are becoming so popular.
