Nerd alert.


Plotted fuel consumption vs speed to find MPG at each RPM. Looks like 3000-ish RPM is the most efficient cruising speed for my setup.

Thunder mine comes on plane about the same. 1001, 1002 and she's there. I can drop the tabs and throttle back to about 8 indicated. I tried it last fall just to see what would happen, and discovered it's kinda cool motoring around slowly and keeping the bow down in the water!

At Havasu I opened her up again while cruising solo, found the rev limiter Havasu is about 1000' lower in elevation from my home lake (1700 vs 735 ft) and I was running in colder air than back home too. Saw a hair over 5200 on the tach, 59.5 mph. Be interesting to see how she does during the hot summer months.
