Boy she pops right up. Sweet. Yea was it trimmed all the way down or just turned that sharp. I don't think I ever cavitated my rev. It gets right there with the rpms.

No worries as I've said seapage like that is irritating but not the end of the world now that you have it figured out.. dam blind holes.. haha

Nice video.. I gotta practice that
The hole on the tab that was stripped out is one of the ones that was seeping, I pushed around the edges when I had the tab off and it felt a little soft. Ugh...just say no to transom rot

Trimmed down all the way, but I was pretty close to full lock and on the throttle pretty hard. Much more than I would be pulling a tube or similar.

Little bit of boom going in before Havasu next week. Got these from a really good friend/ex college roommate who just sold the car they were in. He wasn't going to use them in the new car and gave them to me. Funny part is I bought that amp new in 2003, used it for a couple months and then sold it to him for like $50 or something since I changed my setup. 14 years later and it's still kicking.

Spec sheet on the amp is 338 watts RMS and the sub is rated for 200 RMS, so it won't be a lot of bass but I don't need too much.

Amp and sub mounted. Primary wire and ring terminals from Amazon should be here today, so I'll get it wired in tomorrow.

Nice work fitting it in there so you still have a ton of space. And the fish will get to share the bass!

Thanks! Hopefully it will sound ok. I read up and found a few people who said orientation doesn't matter, and one guy who swore it sounds better when it reflects off the hull. Amp is more accessible this way anyway :)

Got her wired up today. Having a problem with the amp cutting out when louder bass hits. Put the boat away for now but after thinking about it, I measured the voltage at the power leads at 11.3 and the turn-on wire at 10.5v coming from the head unit with the engine off, I think when the bass hits the voltage at the turn on wire is dropping enough to signal the amp to shut off. Going to move the amp turn on wire to share the stereo turn on wire, hopefully that will fix it. I hooked up a battery charger for a bit and the amp seemed to do better, so I definitely think it's a voltage drop issue. If that doesn't fix it I may have to run a larger gauge power and ground. Right now using 8awg and the run is probably 25-30 feet.

The factory runs 8 which I think is too small. Mines ok but I'm not running a sub. The new amps want you to run 4 at a min now.And mount the amp as close to the battery as you can.

My amp only accepts 8 but the length of the run might be a problem. Will start with moving the turn on wire and if that doesn't fix it will look at running 6 or 4 instead. Also ran the ground to a ground block near the back of the engine instead of directly.to a battery, wonder if that could be a problem?
