Am happy to have found this forum as some knowledgeable cobalt owners here. I'm picking up a Cobalt 210 with Heritage trailer by end of month and have been researching ways to reduce rock chips/tar, etc. from chipping the gelcoat. I'm driving a Ram 1500. Have pretty much narrowed things down to the www.towtector.com based on user experience. It covers better than standard or even the large mud guards using a brush system. I'm getting standard splash guards for the truck next week but that doesn't solve the problem for boat towing according to most users especially if you end up on some gravel,newly tarred roads.
Wondering if anyone here has gone through this experience and what your recommendation might be. We owned a 226 some years ago but it stayed at the lake whereas our new boat will get towed much more to various lakes from KS, MO, OK and UT. There is 20% off Towtectors through early next week on www.realtruck.com. Any recommendations/experience appreciated.

I've heard the towtector ones work very well for a few friends, but don't have first-hand experience. I've seen other solutions at boat shows and whatnot, such as:

After speaking with the owner I ordered the KWIK PFYT. There are some good reports on these and at $360 they are still cheaper than the dual exhaust Towtectors. The flaps for my dual exhaust Ram 1500 require a solid rubber flap vs the skirt material but the inside of the flap contains something he calls "anti-spray". It is a honeycomb looking stuff that is part of the flap and he says is the material used by UPS over the road trucks. Similar to the skirts when a rock hits it it drops to the ground vs. ricocheting around and ending up striking your boat/trailer.
