I talked to the GM rep (engineer) at the motor display and asked about the 6.2 motor. He said (Mercury and Volvo) do in fact detune the 430 hp motor to get the lesser hp through the ECU.

He also said since its locked it's virtually impossible to crack it, and if you do, and it needs service, they won't touch it.

So there..
Thanks for asking this, Ytmsn. Just as we suspected....de-tune to fill the hole between horsepower offerings and then charge $8,000 for a "de-tune delete".

Look at it backwards....the 380 is a great value with the 8k discount for detune

Nah...corporate greed at it's finest until competition comes in to level the playin' field. Let's hope Merc can step up--although with an oligopoly, you may see the same thing. :(

I believe my boat is the 380 as my dealer said, and not the VP rep. The confusing part was the 430 designated emissions tag on the block.

George Bush; "I don't miss being President, but I damm sure miss being Commander in Chief! I love our military! I haven't driven since 1993 other than this car. And it's damm fast!"

He sold a corvette that was built for him.

All the proceeds go to fallen warriors, and the car brought $1.4 million. Pretty dang cool.

Have your dealer run the number on the ecu. That will say what it is in a hurry.

I watched the the president one also. Very cool.

It’s all rather funny.
Dealer says it’s a 380, VP USA says congrats, and hopes for that I scored two engines because the HP is determined by the block emission tag which is 321k.. Top speed runs about 50-52 and redlines easily with current props. The boat can fly over 55 on the river depending on current, but that means nothing.
I got to believe the ECU tags which says 380.

Determination? If you want to really go fast? Buy an R30 with twin engines.😋

For a bigass boat 50 is plenty fast! I'm guessing you probably didn't buy that boat for it's top speed anyway, but for it's comfort and luxury.

Here is a shot of the 2017 Ford GT selling for $2.4 million. Apparently you have to sign a contract with Ford when you buy one of these that you'll never sell it.

Ron Pratt owned this car and worked out an agreement with Ford to donate 1/2 the proceeds to Ford's favorite charity. And since you can't get one because they only made a few, it brought the bank.

Everybody was on their feet when the hammer fell. Pretty dang cool..

It was pretty fun Tuscany. Since you're a gear head you need to come out next year. I was telling BB is like mecca for car guys. That goes for any of y'all. Matt would walk around in a daze with all the horsepower and shiny things everywhere you look!

Here is a link that highlights and wraps up the week. Maybe A7 can imbed this thing? I'm not savey enough to know how.
