Another New Cobalt owner from MO

Post by tgrace98 »

Hello thought I would introduce myself as I am a new Cobalt owner. I recently picked up a 2002 262BR with a Volvo 8.1Gi. It currently only has 294hrs on it but I plan to make that number go up rather quickly this year. I was able to test her out last weekend on lake of the ozarks! I will be keeping it down on Table Rock Lake and cannot wait to get it down there in the spring! :D

I think those arches where ahead of there time.. considering every boat mfg is going back to them..! And then center walk through is my fav.

Thanks for the "proof of Cobalt life" pics .. looking forward to more!

So sexxxxy she is. 👍🏻

Great to see the upgrades...sea grass and stainless cup holders. Nice 👌🏻

Can we beg you for an engine compartment pic??😎
Transom pic? 😊

The 2000-2007 260 series is one of the best hulls ever produced by Cobalt. With a 22 degree deadrise, she rides extremely well, even in big water. (We travel to Canada ....and back on Lake Erie. )

Plus, the extended planing suface coupled with the duo prop set up makes her jump up on plane quickly with minimal bow rise making her fantastic for water sports.

AND

she’s fast on the top end. You’ll hit 55 mph with your setup.

Sexy, fast, practical, spacious,& a quality that will last with no wood and Kevlar strengthening. The storage space is phenomenal. I carry just about every type of water toy you can go out on—all at once!

We are a huge fan of center walk through transoms as you lose no seating (with the optional cushions which I see you have :D )....no listing issues, and a huge sunpad if you desire.

Bottom line, it’s a beast of a boat for water sports, with a yacht capacity plate for entertaining....storage galore,...and (I can’t say it enough) SO SEXY

Btw, how will you be using yours??

oh why not 1 more. Unfortunately I do not have a good picture of the transom at this time. As it is being stored about 3hrs away from me until I get it delivered to my marina in April. So this is all I have for now. This is now my 4th boat and I cannot even begin to express the smile it put on my face when I drove this last weekend. My last boat was a late 90s Baja 272 islander and I cannot even begin to tell you how much more I enjoy driving this Cobalt compared to the Baja. Handles much better and has so much more power. Take in mind my Baja was a carb'd 454 so it was maybe 300hp but this boat just rides so darn flat compared to my Baja.

Also I know the Volvo motors don't tend to like the cold water but I easily hit low 50s in it with the water temp at about 42 degrees

Very cool!

Engine heater and Corsa captain’s Call exhaust too!

She’s outfitted nicely.

Curious how you’ll be using her?

Mainly just for cruising the lake with a bunch of friends and family. I will probably pull a tuber from time to time as well.

It will be nicely taken care of as I will be keeping at a Cobalt dealer/service center/marina. That is actually what made me buck up and get a cobalt. I was looking at other 26-28ft bowriders and when this one popped up for sale in my area within my budget I jumped on it right away.

Welcome from Oklahoma! MAN I like your boat! That's EXACTLY what I was looking for when I went on the hunt for mine, and oddly enough I found it right there at the harbor!
Maybe one of these days I can get over there and hang out with you and TR.

This picture was from salesman packing it in for the water test.

For some reason I can't see any pictures other than the first one you posted. Is anyone else having trouble?

Ha! Bobby told there were three or four people ready to look at it that day. That's why I got there early!

Yeah Google is definitely doing something with your pictures. Try just uploading them from your phone.
