That oil filter looking thing maybe the reservoir. Is there a cap on it?

On the part that the motor and the reservoir both mount to there is a bolt head that looks like a oil pan drain plug but it's side ways. I don't see anything that could be a dip stick(unless I look in the mirror) or anyway to put something in it to measure the oil level.

Found it......there is a large screw head that you unscrew and the dip stick,is on it. I should have looked closer I guess.

Awesome! Did it have fluid? You might think about taking a turkey baster and sucking all the old stuff out and replacing the fluid with fresh juice

There was oil on the stick but I need to check it with the drive down but the battery is out so....I do need or should say want to change the oil in it. I was surprised to see it uses 10-30 motor oil.

I see keep seeing some real shiny spots on my hull and think there is still adhesive I haven't removed but it's just the original shine from when it was new under the registration numbers. Wow.

How do you get the bulb out of the docking light housing? I took the housing off the hull to,make it easier to sand/buff,I know both bulbs are burned out/broken so ill replace them with LEDs but I can't figure out how to get them out. Cobalt tells me you have to replace the light housing as a unit but that doesn't sound right. So....

If it's like mine, then the "eyeball" is held into the frame by 3 bolts. The eyeball is basically two plastic halves of a sphere and a ring that they grab onto that holds them together. The factory uses some kind of adhesive to attach the eyeball halves to the ring, but the halves will grab and hold without it. I started with a knife down in the groove where the two halves come together and started working it back and forth to try and spread them. After they started to separate I worked up to a large flat head screwdriver and eventually got the two halves separated. It's pretty self-explanatory after that. The bulb is sealed to it's half of the housing by a foam gasket that gets compressed when everything is clamped together. Or something like that, it's been a little while since I was in there.

If you can't get it, next time I'm at the boat I can take mine apart again and show pics.

Thanks T55000. I figured it came apart some how but didn't know if it just fit together or screwed together.I'll see if I can get them apart tomorrow it's not like I don't have anything else to do on the boat.

Yeah right. Hoghead it's not that big of deal really, but it's also no walk in the park, except for Thunder. But you have to remember, he's not.. normal.

Really it's just a matter of prying everything apart without breaking the plastic and I I had to use a dab of glue going back together with it all. If you get LED bulbs you'll need to solder in the wires.

I finally got one light apart. I worked on it for awhile and wasn't making any headway so beings the bulb was already cracked I broke it out to see what it looked like inside and could see that it was pressed together so I anchored it to my welding table and used a slide hammer to get it apart, I was kind of hoping that the silver ring would have stayed in the main housing to make it easier to put a LED bulb back in but I'll make it work. The housing is metal and the paint scratched pretty easy so I'll have to figure out some kind of good paint(powdercoat ???) to cover it when the time comes.
