My 262 Build
Re: My 262 Build
After looking last night, decided to remove this:
. .
It was a little loose and the silicon or whatever that was had peeled off a lot.
Going to clean behind it and then tighten it back down and silicon around it.

Re: My 262 Build
Looked at it again last night and the stuff under that, around the edges is not just silicon. I am not sure what it is. It is almost like a gasket of some type. I am going to go ahead and clean it all off and then I guess I will put a bit of silicon under it to protect the boat then then after I tighten it down I will put a bead around it to clean up the look.

Best I could do cleaning that small area. Now I am going to take rubbing alcohol and wipe it all down and then silicone around those holes then reinstall that flange. I will then silicon around the perimeter

If that stuff I cleaned off isn't silicone...anybody know what it is? It was white and almost spongy. I want to use it to protect the boat when I put this flange back

Sorry I've never taken one off. I guess I would call the dealer to see if it's a gasket.juddmyers wrote: Tue Apr 10, 2018 7:24 pm If that stuff I cleaned off isn't silicone...anybody know what it is? It was white and almost spongy. I want to use it to protect the boat when I put this flange back

Re: My 262 Build
I'd guess 5200 or something similar. No idea though.

Here it is back where it belongs. Bead of silicon around the inside and then around the edges and tightened down.
Too much gap at the top to suit me. Makes me think it isn't the original or something.

Re: My 262 Build
I'll look at mine in the morning. I'll check some pictures first. Looks pretty tight.

Re: My 262 Build
Making progress. Finally the sun has decided to shine for a few days and temps be ok. I spend a few hours after work yesterday cleaning the inside of the boat. Even scrubbed what seats remain with a tooth brush. After work today, I need to do the last back seat and then clean the swim deck and the inside is done and ready to have upholstery re installed. That being said, looks like I could be lucky and upholstery MIGHT be ready to pick up on Friday!!
I do have one new "project". I will post here and then post in general also. I want to know who has replaced their original stereo transom remote? I have a new wet sounds remote, I need to remove the old remote and then fab up something to make my new remote fit because they are different shapes. If you have done something like this, please share your ideas or pics.
I am going to raise the hatch this afternoon and see if it gets to the spot where the remote is located.. meaning see if the new remote has to be mounted inside or if it can be flush mounted.

Here is a pic of what I am working with. The new remote is round. Not sure yet how hard it is going to be to remove this one.
