So, I wasn't totally out of the loop in terms of boat upgrades while we were on vacation. During the trip, I used some down time to design the swim platform pads and went ahead and ordered them from Aquamarinedeck (due to the logo issues). I had to add the cutout for our grill mount. I'm also getting the entire walkthrou made up, including a pad for around the ski pylon. Here's what I sent to Ashley... waiting for the proofs now.

Tonight's project was to start installing the heater stuff while the captain's side panel is out and I have more access to route the ducts.

I was pretty sure the factory position was under the helm because that's where the wiring harness plugs for the heater box were so I tried fitting it there. It wasn't until I removed the panel from the storage area in the bow that I figured out how to fit it in there just right. I did some sleuthing and figured that I could install the rear heat tubes in the area where the rear most cupholders are pointing to the stern and then should be able to route all the duct work back to the heater box but I would need access holes through the beam that is just rear of the ski locker.

Mounting the box was easy and adding the louvered vents for the front seats wasn't too bad. But getting the hole saw/drill to cut through that beam in the awkward position laying in the ski locker was a PITA! Tomorrow I'm going to seal up the wood with epoxy and pickup a different arbor so that I can use the hole saw with my 90° drill for the heat tube holes. I'm also going to try to source the molex connctors so I can use the factory harness plugs for the box and switch... little things like soothe the OCD in me. ;-)

Tonight I sealed up the holes with epoxy and installed the rear hot tubes. All I can say is that I was sweating it when I cut the first hole and it looked like this:

But after a lot of wrestling with it (they were damn tight fits in the 4" hole), this is what I ended up with:
20180426_203937.jpg
I also made progress in the toilet holding tank installation. After the heater, I'm going to move on to the toilet. And with some good weather in the forecast for next week, I'm going to reach out the garage with the chain hoist to try to get their time to put the engine back in (I really wish my garage was taller). I basically have 2 months from this weekend before I need to be finished as we don't really start our season in earnest until school is out.

As I see it, I'm going to have to put in nearly 2 hours on every day I'm free between now and then.. I enjoy it, but man, I'll be glad when I'm finished for this season!

Will your swimdeck not have lines then? And if Aquamarine is doing it, can they do that pattern around the C crest? When they did mine they couldn't. It had to be a solid crest.
Amazing work!

It will have lines to give it the teak board effect - I just didn't bother adding them to my model. I designed the crest with the extra detail, hoping maybe that if I did the work that they could cut it that way, but we'll see - that detail is pretty fine and my guess is that they don't like to use real small cutters.. It won't surprise me if they default to their standard logo.

I tried to have them add some veins to mine and they wouldn't do it. I am just having the outline done with their C. I like their C better than Seadek's.

Chris if your lines run with the boat know that the grain will run sideways unless you cut the long sections into 3 parts. The material comes in 40 by 70 sheets with the grain running long. If your lines go from side to side then it won't matter.
