Hello from Idaho.

Post by Silverbullet555 »

Good day all. Just stumbled upon the site. We've owned our cobalt for almost 10 years now. I like 90% of it. The 10% is more engine drive vs the boat. Currently we live in Boise, ID. Our boat started its life in New York and then went to Seattle. We bought it from a friend in Seattle and took it to CA for about 5 years.

Look forward to some good discussion.

The boat is a 2002 226 with a VP 8.1Gi. She flies which is one of the reasons I love her. Great seating arrangement and lots of fun.

Added a tower when we bought her, installed new stereo equipment a few years later and an extended swim platform (best upgrade ever) a few years after that.

Most of our boating is actually on the hook swimming. As the kids grow, hopefully they'll want to tube and ski or wakeboard.

Hey, that's great stuff silverbullet555! Welcome to the Cobaltchat forum. So glad you found us.

Sounds like you got a beauty there. I can definitely relate to the water sport activities as that is how we use ours on Presque Isle bay in Erie PA.
Any pics of that 8.1GI beast?

Again, welcome aboard mate!

Let's see if this works
I used to use photobucket and we all know how that worked out.

Nothing recent, but a smattering from over the years

Thanks. It took too long and was over budget. But, it came out nice.

No one really sees it, but I know it's there.

It has amp temp sensors, cross fans for the amps, 3 class d amps powering 6 cabin speakers, 8 tower speakers and a 12" sub. Each amp can be turned on and off independently so we can choose where to hear the music.
