Welcome Chachie. Glad to have you on board. Could you post a pic of the buttons you are asking about?

Welcome Chachie....Chachie wrote: Fri May 18, 2018 9:17 am I just bought a 1985 cm23 kinda confused as why there are two sets of buttons on the throttle control???
Great to have another CM23 owner on here. I think that makes 2. The CM23s are pretty special and getting rare. There were only 84 boats produced and in 1985 only 15 were made. I have serial # 015 making mine the last one made.
I would love to see some pictures of yours. What kind of shape is it in? They are 33 years old. I'm doing a resto/mod on mine and I am very close to finishing. If you look in the "Older Boats" section you will sees a lot of pics and the story.
To answer your question....pictures would be helpful. One of the buttons lowers and raises the outdrive but should only raise it to the stting of the limit switch. The other switch will bypass the limit switch and raise the drive all the way up, such as needed for trailering. This switch should only be used when the motor is NOT running.

Like Ytmsn mentioned, we would love to see any pics you have of your CM23. They are getting rarer. Feel free to post in a new thread if you have the time.
Sounds like the dual switch setup was answered above.
Again, welcome aboard mate!
