I'm so sorry also. I feel like Rocco and Gracie were part of this forum as well.
This is actually ironic that this shows they are with us. This is the ad up on top.

Thanks guys and Love (loce) you all!. We're feeling pretty good today knowing we did what's best. No need for sympathy. It ended well, an she had a great life, and gave us 14 years of lessons about unconditional love.
Just a few more days of the garden center part of my "ball and chain", and we're going boating!

Tusc I'm in the same place with everyone else here so I'll just say this and then leave it alone. I'm glad you're in a good place. And when I grow up, I want to be like you!

We honestly treat our animals better than some people treat their kids. With that being said when you loose one is leaves a huge void. When I had to put down our last pup, it was the hardest thing I ever had to do. I struggled even getting another pup and it took me about a year but our house was so quiet without a dog running around. For me even when people said it will get better, it honestly didn't, However,I knew we could give another dog a great life and I almost felt like I owed that to another dog.

I never had 2 dogs before but since we haven't been blessed to have kids, I thought what the heck. We added Belle almost 2 months ago to our family with Sully being a year and a half. I can honestly say it is the best thing we have ever done and I will never go without having 2. It completely changes the dynamic and from day 1 these pups play hard and snuggle the next minute. There was no getting used to or stand off time for them. From the minute they saw each other, they were best buds. Here is what they do every day, we have tons of pictures like this.

I hope you choose to give another pup a great life. As hard as that may be to think about right now, in the end it will be the best thing for everyone.

Couldn't agree more on having two. My wife is ready for another one, or 2, right now. I' want to wait a bit....mostly for selfish reasons. My wife travels for business, I'm retired so I'm the one who would have to do everything with them at first. While I miss them both terribly I have to admit it's nice not having to watch where I walk in the back yard, or not having to pick up dog shit for 20 minutes before I mow the lawn. And I actually have lawn again. I'm thinking next Spring maybe....if I can hold out that long.

I mentioned earlier in this post that our Jack Russell was nearing the end of
DSC_7555.jpg
DSC_7290.JPG
her journey, 6/2 I had to have her put down, Lymphoma
That was one of the toughest things I've ever had to do, my wife still cries every day. We buried her in our back yard and plan to make a memorial in her honor.

It’s brutal Vans. It emotionally killed my wife and I. I swear losing our pups are what caused my pneumonia, and my wife’s bronchitis the week following Rocco’s death.
The tears are going to flow for a while. All of my best to you and your wife. Hang in there.

My heart aches for you and your wife as well, Vans. Just so tough on the family losing a precious loved one.

Both of you are I'm sure better people because of Maggie and her unconditional love.

May the good Lord wrap his arms around your family and heal some of the emotional pain.

Their lives burn bright and short for a reason. They teach so much and I know I fail to grasp it all. Sitting here looking at my 4 yr. old Golden knowing he has a lesson for me each day. Maybe it's love, appreciation, responsibility, all those things and more; I strive to see what I'm missing. As they say, I wish I was half the man my dog thinks I am. I only hope to do his short life justice and appreciate his gift from God. Our thoughts are with you.

You are so right and you put it into words perfectly. I always said, lock your wife and your dog in the trunk for an hour and see who is the happiest to see you when you let them out!
