Alaska what I did is very obtainable!. It's a piece of 2" SS tubing and a $30 umbrella from Walmarket. I cut about 8" off the umbrella shaft to get the right height (for me anyways)
So you just bought a normal rain umbrella. No need to cut that. Lol
Ha! Sayz the guy that's 5 foot nothing!
That's 5ft something to you!

New guy chiming in here. Did anymore come up with a parts list for this build yet? I just called my local dealer and they want $1078 for the umbrella. I would love to add this to my boat, but I am not sure if I can justify the Cobalt tax...

The stainless pipe and plate arrived at my house this week for me to make a prototype, but I haven't had a chance to try to machine it due to desperately trying to get my boat on the water. As soon as my boat is on the mooring, I'll make one up so I can come up with a price.

Understood slide.....there is no way to justify prioritizing this over your boat!

At 39.95 each you could have many spares! I'm the same mount on our 282 so I see a tall sleeve. Maybe he'll get a upclose shot once he patents it😂😂

I'm sure it will gdane!

It's a piece of 2" SS tubing and I stuck it right in. It measured the same OD as my ski pylon so I went to a pipe and tubing place and bought a piece about 7' long put of their scrap pile.

Then I went to Walmarket and bought an umbrella for $30 bucks. I measured the height I wanted, cut the tubing, then cut the bottom part of the 2 piece umbrella shaft where I wanted it.

A friend of mine is a machinist, and he tells me he can cut the notch in the tubing that I'll need to make it fit like my ski pylon. Then he'll tack a couple of shims in the top and bottom to make the umbrella shaft fit a little tighter, but it's not really necessary. Then he'll polish it to a mirror finish.

Total cost - $50.00

Yesterday I saw a 9' Sumbrella umbrella at Sam's for $112.00. I figure I can buy another as a spare and still be ahead! Or I can buy 30 of them from Walmart and still be ahead of factory price!

Keep in mind we have our member sliderule designing the R7 mounts currently. It appears the notches are different.

Yt fabrication is up and coming and with his brilliant marketing will sure be a fan fav for the early series.

I'll be brokering both companies through my Canadian viagra website 😎

If you are going to try to make one for your R series, the pipe size for the R series is not standard pipe - 2" will be too big. And I don't want to get anybodys hopes up but I don't think I'll be able to do it as inexpensively as Yt.. I'm hoping to chuck up the proto next week.
