496 Smart Craft Connector
496 Smart Craft Connector
Hey guys, I’ve got a 2004 496HO and I thought all 496s were smartcraft compatible, but I cannot seem to locate the darn connector. Can anyone confirm if these engines actually have smart craft? The outdrive and engine cover all have the logos, but those are just stickers.

Yes it's there. I think you have the mefi4 ecu.
It has a cap on the end of it. Mine is on the starboard side manifold.
You have to remove your captains call first.

I know where my Volvo one is. I thought merc was on the starboard manifold by the ECU.

I don't feel there is one on my boat. I don't believe Volvo has the smart craft connector BB.

You are correct on the manifold loc on Merc engines, BUT that is for each engine.
