Trailer
Re: Trailer
Only person I know who can whip out three different examples like that. Lol
I would think new bunk carpet would cure the sticking.
Maybe I'll see you on Friday.

Re: Trailer
I'm thinking of going with some 1/2 hdpe board so it doesn't touch the boat but protects the boat if I hit them on the outer bunks. Or thinking of this ultimate bunk board so if it gets caught up on the chime it will slide off of it? I don't need it for support although the ultimate board would give it that.

Re: Trailer
Welded bunks. Adjustability would not only solve some of your problems, but there is no changing boats and keeping the trailer.
IMHO, I would never buy a bunk product other than carpet. You might want to reconsider that 0ne..That poly product is hard as a rock, making it ultra slippery.
My favorite launch spot has a very scary steep ramp. You may find your boat slipping off of your trailer on your way down the ramp. THAT would really wreck your day and could easily happen.

Re: Trailer
All of my trailers have all had welded braces. Until this trailer they have all loaded great. It didn't matter how bad you came at the trailer they would load straight. I would not change all the bunks to non carpet ones so it would stay in place. Just the outside two. They are only maybe 4feet long. Plus I never take the winch strap off until the boat is in the water.

Re: Trailer
I get it. My set up is long and our routine is different. I unhook and don't get out of my truck when I launch because I know the carpet will hold it. My wife holds the ropes and ties it up while I park.
Sorry, but Sticks would take care of all of your issues 100% of the time my friend..cut them short.
I don't think anyone is judging the looks of your trailer. They are too busy looking at your boat!

Don't forget WD40! We've got a saying in our family:Tuscany wrote: Sat Jun 10, 2017 7:18 amDamn right!Ytmsn wrote: Sat Jun 10, 2017 6:55 am I think there might be a little suthern boy in you Tusc! Throw in a little bailing wire too. You can fix ANYthing with ductape and wire!
No southern genes, I live near Buffalo, NY.. but some of us nawtherners are skilled in the art of bailing wire, duct tape, and gorilla glue. Toss in a pipe wrench and a 6 way screw driver and we can fix anything..![]()
I used to drive semi in my 20's, and learned how to stay on the road way back when....![]()
If it sticks and it shouldn't - WD40. If it should stick and it doesn't - Duct Tape!

Re: Trailer
Sell it. Get the Eagle. I love my trailer... and my cheater tubes, but I've already come clean about that.
I launch all over the place, from crappy launches to crappy launches and this thing always loads straight. You've seen I launch from a slate beach at an angle depending on what's around me, behind me or lurking in the water. Doesn't matter. always straight, and I don't need those cheaters... but man are they a delight!

Re: Trailer
Hi guys.
I took the ride to Port Clinton Ohio today to pick up the trailer. I thought I would share a few pics.
It's definitely built to haul a tank. I can tell I'll have to back to diesel..

Re: Trailer
The one thing I didn't expect was the paint quality. Everything is covered and finished like the hood of a car. It's 's a boat trailer...
Smooth, shiny and not a single spot missed.
What looks like a scufffed part is actually shine reflection..
Very happy I spent a little extra for the 16" rubber.
Now hopefully a boat will show before it snows..
I went with equalizing springs.
I'm all done wit torsion, especially on a long trailer.

Re: Trailer
Two position load guides.
You pull that pin to extend the sticks into position then re-insert the pin. Push them back in when running unloaded so the sticks don't stick out 102' wide.
Or remove them altogether.
