Towing with cockpit and bow cover - tent poles or no?

Tape down your cover where it is directly in the wind with shrink wrap tape....that is how dealers do it

Sailor, it may be as simple as replacing some of your weaker snaps with new ones.

Ironically, the dealer replaced the snap with the bigger heavier duty one and it still pulled out. It's not that it's coming unsnapped, it's litterally pulling the male portion of the snap out of the gelcoat. I think I'm going to epoxy it back in myself.

Got back yesterday from a 1000 mile round trip. Covered both ways with tent poles in. There is one snap on the bow cover that has never held well, it rode unsnapped the whole way. One other snap appeared to not be installed correctly, the cap separated from the snap body at some point on the way home. Even with those two spots not held down, the cover had no problem staying put. We had no issues along the way. Went through a pretty good rain storm on the way home, glad it was covered up.

I have changed my mind on tent poles up. I think it is hard on the cover for not much gain. I would town covered not tent poles.
