Wish you had a picture of a on board battery charger on the 220 s I know it was a option. Thinking about installing one.

I don’t have one on mine. It looks like it is simpler if you have two batteries of the same type/chemistries, or a dumb charger; and more complex if you have two different types of batteries, and/or a smart charger with multiple charging profiles. See, for example, https://www.bluesea.com/resources/503, and related articles. Also, keep in mind the 15ma current draw of the ACR, which will eventually drain your battery if directly connected in parallel with it. In my case, the boat is used at least once every three weeks (it has been every week since acquisition, 36 hours on the engine since July 13), so that hasn’t been a problem yet. I’m not sure what my winter storage folks normally do in the two battery case, I suspect it is disconnect them when they get it, condition and connect before they give it back, but it isn’t winter yet, and I haven’t asked.

There are ways to take the ASR off line when using a charger in the docs I referenced. Take some pics if you add a charger.

I can't say what's under there, but there are many other things attached to that surface. The battery tray is screwed down, the mounting bracket for the drain pump is glued down. Other possible mount points are the forward engine compartment wall where the ACR is, or the storage compartment where the battery switch is.

Will a on board battery charger hurt this system ? Its a 2 bank charging system for long storage.

I don't have much more to say to the subject. Maybe others can chime in. Check the Blue Sea web site for useful info, I've left pointers on other threads. If you have the 7611 ACR, it will connect the batteries together on charge - Blue Sea talks about a few ways to keep that from happening (connect the ACR on the other side of the off switch, disconnect the ACR with a relay or manual switch when charging, etc). You can just hook up one charger output and assume you'll charge both batteries - batteries need to be the same type for this. Some folks freak about the the batteries being at a different change levels at the start, some don't.

Alaskabound wrote: Sun Jul 29, 2018 1:52 pm DCLfan, one new thing I learned on my 2017 this week, which you may already know, is that you can charge an iPhone by plugging into the usb Imput in the glove box and turning on the radio.
The USB in the glove box on my A25 only has power when you've got USB input selected on the stereo. That's kind of a PITA.

I am rethinking of wiring a BT adapter into the stereo on the USB input (or maybe AUX) and just wiring the existing USB plug to power for charging things.

I haven't tried the various USB inputs as audio sources, as my PMX-5CAN supports BT directly. I'll give my usb a try. The dual usb input under the dash works for charging at least. What head do you have?

I installed one like this, replacing the cigarette type plug under the helm. 5 minute job and now I can keep my phone and other goodies charged at the helm. A plus is the voltage readout when on anchor. You can still see it with the cover closed.
