Would there be and issue mounting a charger next to the battery box. Looks like a good place as the box is screwed down . In the bilge area but up high.

No worries if using sealed batteries.

Just don’t attempt screwing in to the sides . Use the forward bulkhead

I was thinking laying it flat and screwing it to the bottom where and beside the battery box is.

I’m sure that’s fine.
One thing to keep in mind though as bilges get wet, and to be able to clean at one point it is vulnerable in that location. Bring that safe heaters are on floor bilge area just be carful on install and what the thickness is.

Boat mfg pre determine mount locations and certain area are molded thicker

This may or may not be a factory install. This is not a pic I took, but I figured that some one somewhere must have had a charger installed in a 220s, and it might show up in the engine pics typical on a for sale page, and enough looking might turn one up. Procrastination mode now off.

Keep in mind that batteries produce hydrogen gas when charged which is lighter than air and should go up. If your batteries are sealed it shouldn't be any big deal, but if they are lead acid I would try and keep the charger as far away as possible.

Interstate Marine batteries that came with the boat. Haven't thought of that its going to be outside under boat cover. Charger is a foot away . Same as the factory install a few post up .. Thanks

Shouldn't be a problem. I use interstates also. My charger is maybe 2-1/2 foot from the Port and 3' from the Starboard. Plug mine in after every run and always put the cover on. Hasn't been a issue for me using the ProMariner charger.
