Hello - I have a 2012 230 and I'm on a mission to remove the port side bow wrap cushion to replace a damaged skin with an already-in-hand oem skin. I can reach about 7 of the estimated 9 bolts holding the cushion on (4 from the backrest area, 3 from the anchor locker). A few questions to any forum members:
1) Has anybody successfully removed and then subsequently reattached all of the nuts? What tools and techniques did you use to do this?
2) Does anybody know how cobalt initially installs the cushion? Is it done before the hull forms are merged together?
3) How many bolts are actually on the cushion?
Thanks!

Hey jflo. That's quite a challenge you are taking on. Almost need a 2 year old with a Michael Phelps wings span to reach those nuts.
bigblockpower may have done this on that model. He' ll chime in shortly.
In the meantime, so glad you found us. Please post any pics. It will certainly help others out in the same predicament. Or if you have time, we would love to know how you got into a Cobalt. Feel free to start a new thread. ....with more pics!
....and welcome aboard mate!

Pictures and lots of good luck. It's going to be a b***tech. Remove the speakers, cup holders, go through those. Have to go through the anchor locker and through the back of the bow seat from the storage area. And good luck. Yes it's installed when they are separated at birth. Cover your arms with long sleeve shirts and your hands. No idea how many there are.

Re: Removing Bow Wrap Cushions
Thanks for the advise. Removing the speaker will give me access to atleast one more nut. I've ordered a small endoscopic camera that I'm going to send through the gap to see just how many more nuts are and determine if I can reach them.
I'll update once I get back up to the lake in two weeks.
