Back a couple inches it seems. Hard to truly tell with out a scale on the toung with it level level.

Air Bags - because as long as it doesn't LOOK overloaded it's FINEEEEEEEEE.

I would push that back a bit, don't know what the hitch rating on the Tacoma is, the F150 is only 500lbs weight carrying. We are right at that /w the 222 and it sits much farther back on the trailer.

Thanks for the info. I will double check everything when I get to a good level spot. My father-in-law, I would say is significantly more knowlegable about trailers and trailering, thought things looked good. He has trailered boats, big travel trailers etc that have all been "bumper" pull vs. 5th wheel. All I know is that when I loaded the trailer on the ball the back the back didn't appear to sag. It actually appeared to sit level. The picture is taken from up on a hill side. It also trailered smooth and it didn't feel light on the front tires. Tracked good and didn't sway.

In regards to the trailer, the front part where the winch is can move, but the trim tabs on the back are about flush with the back of the rack.

FWIW, I was towing it with a Tundra. Assuming we are talking about the mellow yellow boat.

It's a color thing but a truck thing. I don't like the tabs resting on the bunks though.

The tabs are not on bunks. They are trimmed up and dont touch. But length wise they are even with the back of the bunk

It appears to me that you could benefit from moving that pretty yellow boat back some on that trailer. Moving it back lessens the weight on the tongue and will make it tow easier. There is a point of diminishing returns on moving it back too far which is trailer sway and something you don't want for sure with a 1/2 pickup! If you have torsion axles on your trailer, having equal weight on both axles is very important as well, so there are a number of things to take into consideration. I'd do 2 inches and see how that goes down the road and how your rear end sits. Then adjust in one inch increments from there.

So after 25+ years of vacationing at Table Rock Lake each year with my wife's side of the family, I just picked up a new-to-me 2013 A5 (post in the New Member forum is pending). Unfortunately, the boat was in Rogers, AR, and I live in the San Francisco Bay Area.

ROAD TRIP!!

3750 miles in 5 days in my 2011 Mercedes GL350 Bluetec (diesel). This is a PHENOMENAL tow vehicle that also tows my 26' race trailer (that weighs ~1000 lbs more than the boat).

Check out that average fuel mileage - and that was mostly with the cruise locked at 70 mph (until I got to CA, anyway, where they limit you to 55 - but that's a whole other rant).

One snag when I arrived to pick the boat up - I had arranged to also buy a 2011 Venture aluminum I-beam trailer from the seller of the boat. This trailer is not tailored to the A25 but it fit ok with one exception: thank dog I had remembered to bring my tongue weight scale. It weighed out at ~250 lbs. That's obviously not nearly enough for a ~6200 lb load.

A quick trip to the local sporting goods store and Walmart and I had an #ozarkengineering solution to get me home.

It was smooth sailing after that, but I did make some on-the-road calls to Pacific Boat Trailers in SoCal to order a new custom trailer.

One funny thing is that I kept having the same conversation every time I stopped, usually with some guy driving a 1-ton diesel pickup. It went kind of like this:

"You gonna tow that big boat with that lil' ol' SUV?" followed by "A 7500 lb towing capacity? Really?" and then finally "Diesel, huh? 400 lb/ft of torque? Hmm."

Anyway, I love this thing and I cannot WAIT to get this boat in the water this Sunday!

Yes visually it may apear scary if you pull into a flying J haha. But what a fun road trip!

I had ours shipped from Rogers Arkansas to Stockton. But you found where all the great Cobalts are hiding

The trailer?! Yeah it’s uneversal but As long as it not resting on the chines and centers good, maybe it will be ok? I’d move it forward as it looks like the bow stop stand has room to move. And you have enough rear bunk to go to the transom.
