Wow, that was unexpected. :? Certainly have not seen that reaction since I've been here.
I can assure you Matt was trying to be creative in helping you with this.

Our apologies if it came across as crass or obtuse. It's a unique sense of humor here on the CChat forum coupled with a unique challenge on your end with that arch.

Hope you stay with us bwfleming.

Thanks again for the pics too.

Bw,

As a hobbyist fabricator with a fair amount of experience in fiberglass and metals, unless you can gain 100%of the clearance you need solely by removing/relocating everything from the top of the arch (which would be the easiest option) my opinion is that your next best option is to work with a local fab shop to make yours into a hinge style. It's definitely possible and the flat sides should make it relatively straightforward for the metal work. The hardest part will be an actuator that raises and lowers the arch and whether it can be tucked away inside the structure. If someone came to me and asked me to do this, I can't imagine quoting much less than $8-10k. By the looks of it, my guess is you couldn't shorten that much more than a foot before it starts to look bad and impede on traffic, which would be resale killers, so if it were my boat, I would explore that option last.

So, I went and looked at other photos of 360's, and even shortening it by a foot looks like it would be a problem for traffic. So, hinge it, or cut it off at the base and relocate all of the accessories and find a good fiberglass guy to blend the lines.

Geeze. I was actually researching widest foldable arches.. remind me to use my serious monotone texting voice .

Actually our member sliderule is the master fab guru. He has forgotten more about fabrication then most people know.

Stick around awhile. Stay away from the low bridge until we figure something out.

Oh I I’d drive the Donzi 35zr with the arch.

Hhaaha! You made me sound like a hardass Tusc! When I said he should make it a bowrider it was tongue in cheek.

Actually I'm beginning to think the original post is from the New Jersey lady in the picture, judging from the syntax of her text and the ridiculous and clueless idea of cutting the arch off of a beautiful boat like a 360 so she can scoot under a bridge. I'm still trying to figure out how you do that...gracefully? And I've been called a lot of names, but never a twerk. I think that must have directed at BB. 😁

She may have brought it up to her husband (if she has one) and he immediately dismissed the notion. And she probably brought it up on FB and got flamed there as well. So she brought the idea up to our esteemed panel of experts. And she had no idea we're all a bunch of pretentious Cobalt snobs. Well, except A7, who owns and runs the Welcome Wagon, has never said a bad word, never spent the night out alone, has never driven down a gravel road, and is no doubt one of the nicest guys on the innerweb. But he's special. And then there is BB. Pot the Jus!

Who knows..
The very idea! Does she not know who we think we are?

I guess the show is over. Now back to your regularly scheduled program...

Oh yeah, I'd drive that Donzie all day long.
