YT-

Your skill set has always had me intrigued. I've only been witness to 1 live auction and still don't know how it's done. How do you learn? If you don't mind....just curious

Bfun I met him once at a Championship competition. He was pretty nervous around all those big gun bid callers, and hes the reason most of them got into the business!

Sailor here's what I always tell people.

Say peanut butter. Then say it fast over and over. Then count.

TWO...

That will give you a start!

That's pretty cool YT. And saying that "peanutbutter" phrase fast, over and over is not easy!

Kinda reminds me of a pastor I used to converse with who, in his younger years, used to fake speaking in tongues when he was in training with a more charismatic ministry. He mentioned he would just say "Boddahundashooodaboddatoyodda" real fast over and over which of course translated is "Bought a Honda, should have bought a Toyota".  They all thought he had some special revelation from God with how well his tongues flowed from his mouth. (On a personal note, we both believe that gift closed with the closing of the canon in the first century.)

In any event, maybe he should have been an auctioneer. ;)

Yt, I’m impressed. Have bought real estate at courthouse sales many times but more than once, the auctioneer, who I knew, would stop the auction after I bid and say “Dub, we had that bid about three bids ago, you’re behind!”! Wish my mind worked that quick. Good job!
