Twin outboards 30 SC

Post by Big Block Power »

Not sure if any of you doing the tour got a picture of this model. I should have as I showed Mrs Nauti it. Maybe she has one on her gopro. It was right across from the A36 BR we all climbed in.
Is pretty cool twins baby a couple 500r mercs on the back baby.

If I were ever to buy a runabout with outboards it would be this or a formula 350cbr. Love the lines of the 30sc. Love how it doesn’t have the squared off bow like the other sc’s and I bet it would have some nice top end with twin 350 verados

Beautiful how those LED's light up the outboards even during the day. I'm sure with twins that's a pretty loud boat though--especially while sitting in the aft section.

That Optimus command system would make anyone an expert at docking. Just sick.

As Alex in the tour said, outboards are definitely hot and the future.
Call me old fashioned but I still have an affinity for those high horsepower, covered i/o's. 8-)

I know outboards have thier advantages, but I could not see myself buying one. With all the little people running around like lifevest wearing ants on fallen popsicle, I like not having an outboard. Just seems safer to me.

Yeah only reason I would ever consider would be to prolong my boating season. Since you don’t really winterize an outboard I could boat on that crazy warm day in December or January. But it’s not worth giving up my swim Platform over it. Since 60% of our boating time is anchored out in a cove enjoying the water with some cold lemonade 😜

Take a look at this video and check out how Formula mounts their outboards. Free from hoses and what-not.
Cobalt should consider this Armstrong mounting system.

I love the high horsepower, covered I/O’s at well but for the saltwater outboards are tough to beat. I have a Verado 350 on our 5900 lb Marker One and it’s amazing how easily a single engine pushes it up on plane and runs strong all the way to 46 mph. I also love the fact that I can trim it up and pull up on any beach. In 4 years I’ll be boating on the gulf coast of Florida for half the year and it fun to dream about owning a 32 foot or larger boat with triple 350’s or 400R’s. Yamaha had their 425 outboard on display at the boat show last week and I’m sure they will do well with it.

Mnlake just bumped this thread and although I’m not a outboard ( eggbeater) guy we did see something awesome at Cobalt. It was a custom “ non catalog engine” rigging.

BB!
Yes I’m missing that one as well. I think we were so anamored by twin 500R we forgot to get the unicorn pic. I went through the Nauti video to see. Nada.

Maybe a shout out to our members who joined us on the tour could get the pic posted up?!
