"I have a Cobalt"

" Yeah, I think we have one too"

"Really? What size?"

"Oh, I couldn't tell you. We use it as a dingy for my boat"
YT All crazy in this world! Some trying to save to buy a Cobalt and others taking a Cobalt for granted :o

We've own a vacation house in Bonita Springs/Naples, FL.
That area is a tale of three types of people. One is dirt poor, another are successful phoneys with a few bucks who put on the millionaire show, and the other are billionaires, all living within a few miles of one another.
Normal blue collar people mixed with "phoney, play the role" WASPS that want everyone to know it, and then the ultra rich who wouldn't look twice at a millionaire peasant. The homes/boats of the ultra rich..and they may spend one week a year there.

My favorite "clip" from that area was when I was at a gas station filling up. A Bentley drove up next to me. A lady gets out to fill up her own tank. The car was new, filthy, and in need of a detail. The interior was a mess. I told her that she was my hero.. She asked why? I said because she was real..

Dont get me wrong, lots of very nice people around us. I'm sure there are a lot of friends to be made.
The area is so wildly diverse.

I understand and respect the billionaires. After all, it's usually old money they grew up with, and never got the chance to see what the salt of the earth is made of or tastes like. I highly respect the Hispanic laborers who build the homes of the millionaires/billionaires. They probably go back home and live in a mobile home and are actually happy.
The rest are too busy watching the Kardashians in order to form their next opinion.

I got to add this. Last time there, I'm in the parking lot waiting for my wife to come out of Home Goods. Behind me was this little Jag F series sports car. I hear the doors unlock, and this rather large woman proceeds to get in. The look of pain on her face as she squatted down to get in said it all. I thought of getting out and suggesting a Ford Explorer may be a better fit for her body, but her ego may need a semi..

As much as I love Naples, these descriptions are 100% true, lol. Last time we were there we were on a bay charter and the guide said 'his' boat actually belonged to a local billionaire who bought it (24' Boston Whaler, fully rigged) and let him use it for his business as long as he took them out whenever they were in town, which was a couple weeks a year. He said he was buying it from them for pennies on the dollar because they bought a new, bigger offshore fishing yacht and wanted him to captain it for them so they worked out a deal. Very nice guy, we hung out with him a couple nights and got into the local 'blue collar' scene, which I like a whole lot more than the tourist scene.
