R5 Window in Head?

Post by Fin »

We are a couple of weeks away from delivery of our 2019 R5 Surf. Very excited. I'll do a new member update in that thread when we get the boat in the water.
During our order process we went back and forth on the window for the Head compartment. Who out there has that window on their R5? Do you have an opinion on if it's a worth it add on? I like the look from the outside without the porthole interrupting the look of the lines.
Thanks!

We had a head window in our Chaparral. It leaked and stained the interior with a long rust line from the drip.
For that reason, there is no window in our R7.
There is a "skylight" in the ceiling anyway. Plenty of light and very unnecessary..

.
skip the window fin. Like u mentioned, it can tend to break the nice line of a shorter length boat such as the 5 (with exceptions of course).

Now if you have teenagers who are going to constantly use that head, breaking up the nice line may be worth it. :D

yeah I can say I have crawled into the head compartment and shut the door on my R7 and the sky light was more than enough light.

Install a LED or two or twelve. Problem solved.

Our 252 doesn't have a port and the light/fan is fine at night. Our neighbors have a Regal with a port and honestly I don't think it really helps 'the process' at all, and as mentioned is just another point of failure and added cost.

Ok, at night it’s a “moon roof”.🤣
There is a very nice light in there that illuminates the place very well.

I’ve never thought about it until now. Our 282 has one. I can see opening it up for air etc.. etc. but I’m terrified to disturb it. Lol. I think it looks cool.
