Armitagemke wrote: Sun Mar 03, 2019 7:00 am Thanks everyone for your replies. As I mentioned, we want a single engine boat for a variety of reasons. Our docking is easy, we want to still do some water sports (have pulled a skier off the boat with 5 people on board with no issue). We are going with the 430 based on all of your recommendations (even though your real recommendations are to go with twins). For power, the quicker plane time (1.3 seconds faster) and speed to 30 (3 seconds faster) isn't something we need. 47 MPH is plenty for us - to each their own. The joystick would be nice, but I'm coming from an old cuddy cabin that handles so poorly the R30 is such a huge upgrade it's silly. Thanks again for your input.

Out of couriosity where do you do your boating?

To make me seem even sillier not to go to twins, we boat on Lake Michigan. We usually take our boat from protected area to protected area, (and down the Chicago River). We don't typically cross the lake and likely wouldn't in this boat.

As I tend to purchase 3-30 boats a day.. Yes I’m a browser. I did come across this nice R30 that is priced well. Just a suggestion as factory warranty , and extended warranty’s are still available.
Oh and it has twins..

That’s the one I referred to a bit ago in this thread. They have had it for quite some time now. Sounds like you could swoop in and get it cheap!

I usually put mine in my vodka, but maybe that's just me?

Mark, I don't see any cup holders anywhere around the Captains chair? Surely Cobalt wouldn't leave out the Captains cup holder??
When I've sat in a Captain's chair on an R30 I never paid any attention.

It's just forward of the throttle. Maybe you had your lemonade goggles on. :D

BF Love the Lemonade goggles   But seriously that little can holder below the throttle? The captain better not be thirsty. That's sad for a boat in this price range to have that little dingy of a can holder.
