Taking it in for a full mechanical inspection this week, but don’t expect us to find any issues.

Can’t wait to get out this summer. First order of business is lights and stereo upgrades!

Enjoy Minisoda!!! Lookin' forward to your pics on the water with the new baby. :P

Sweet! The 242 is such a great layout and a versatile boat, esp with a big block

He did! I only spoke to him over the phone, but Larry was an absolute pro. Since he couldn’t get her out for a sea trial, I’m still planning a detailed inspection at a local marina.

Really appreciate the referral, thank you!

Congrats on the purchase.

I am also looking at a 2010 242. It isn't online to share with the larger group. This will be my 1st cobalt. I have owned another smaller boat for the past 3 years and I feel that my fam and I could make great use of this boat. It has the larger 8.1L and premium sound and appears very clean. My question is about a trailer. (We are in the PNW and many people leave their boats in the water.) I have a heated shop that I would keep the Cobalt in when it isn't being used.

This cobalt doesn't have a trailer and I was sent some "options" mainly using the trailer from a R5. Do you guys have a place in the PNW that you suggest I call to find a trailer?

Thanks again.

Hey maximumjeep, welcome to the Cobaltchat forum. So glad you found us!

Sounds like you got your eye on a nicely equipped Cobalt. Hopefully it works out for ya’.

What model boat had you owned?

Feel free to start a new thread if you have the time. We’d love to see pics. :D

Again, welcome aboard mate!

You're not alone. There are a yuge number of black boat owners on this site who wish their boat was blue. Sad, but true. We're a very coveted group of owners.

Thanks. we are close to a deal on this one. They offered to get me an R5 trailer vs I have an option elsewhere for an aluminum trailer. I will not be in any Salt and this will sit indoors when not in use so I am still contemplating the trailer. I'll let you know and post pics once I figure it out.

I have a 232 - which is the same hull as your 242. I would go for a Cobalt branded R5 trailer over a generic aluminum trailer every time.
I actually have a trailer for my 232 that is a Cobalt branded trailer made by Rolco that was originally for a Cobalt A25. Works great.
