Thanks for the kind words A7---only trying to help a little....boats are better with dogs IMHO.

One last thing....dog hair----it's probably gonna happen with a dog on a boat. When it dries, a leaf blower makes short work of it---this from the guy with a black lab and white interior!!

Our boating days are very long, and that leaves us little choice other than to take the puppy with us.

Luckily, I have a spare cockpit carpet that we will install when we take him/her.

Just pull the carpet out and leave it out. Then I'll come over and break it in like T5555555000000 white seats.

Got back last night from the river. It was a mixed bag with the dog. The boating part was great, the ride out not so great. We left early Saturday morning and part of the trip is via toll road about 20 miles from home. When I went to grab the transponder from the truck's center console, I didn't see the boat keys where we keep them. Yep, wife forgot she cleaned out the center console and 'consolidated' things. So, we turned off and headed back home for the keys. Back on the road, the dog whined for about 100 miles. Couldn't tell if she was excited or scared or both. We generally only take short rides with her to the beach or groomer and she whines then also, but I just figured she is excited.

Got to the boat and take it out of its storage unit, dog is super excited to see what it is, get it hooked up and launched. Pulled boat to courtesy dock and brought dog down, realized the metal dock was really hot so had to load her quickly in the boat. The handles on the dog life jacket are awesome. Dog was totally at home on the boat right away. Went out for a couple of hours and had a good time.

Got up early-ish Sunday AM and grabbed boat and launched. Dog knew what to do this time and we went up the lake about 25 or so miles before coming back and packing up to go home. I think the dog threw off my routine and I realized I left my wallet in the boat glove compartment on the drive home. That evens out my wife forgetting the keys. I was planning on going back out next weekend to drop the boat off for service anyway, so no big deal except I'll have to beg my wife for cash now. Luckily no travel this week but will grab my passport to keep on me for the week just in case I need ID. Dog did much better on the way home. She was super tired.

That is a GREAT story k232a! Loce it. Hopefully you didn't yell at each other too much. When those things happen, I always think to myself, there is a reason for everything.....and this will make a great story someday that we will ALWAYS remember. Sooooo fun to look back on those. Glad to hear the rest was a fun time too.
