Aviara boats by Mastercraft

Post by Spine Guy »

Has anyone seen these boats? It’s a brand new boat line from Mastercraft. Some really cool features but disappointed that the cuddy doesn’t have a little area for little kids to nap like the R35. I like the “bar stool” telescoping seat, not sure how much it would get used, but some nice touches on the boat. Looks a lot like the A29 except a little big bigger and two screws. I don’t know if the A29 will have 2 screws or not.

Aviara has a quality product in the works with some pretty cool innovations (fender storage location, hydraulic bar stools, touch screen speaker options, windlass engine technology, etc). I'm not a big fan of the higher freeboard-rounded bow bath tub look and do prefer the sexy stance of the Cobalt but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. 8-)

Aviara's helm with touchscreen control is phenomenal. I wish Cobalt would integrate the same versatility, giant size, quality and options into their helm setup. Certainly state of the art with options galore.

It will be amusing though when someone bumps their head on that interestingly styled swim arch (with power shade extended) after standing up from the bar stool.

Overall, looking forward to more competition in the open bow, large runabout category. Thanks again for the share SG.

Funny this thread got posted today because I got this in my daily email from Boat Test.com

https://www.boattest.com/review/aviara/3891_av32

I have to say I like it. I'm guessing with the A29 and now this. This is the future styling of boats. I like the motors they put in it and it looks like it performs very well. If I were in the market for something like this I would look at it for sure.

Thanks for posting that review tgrace. That new style will take me a bit to get used to but I’m sure I would be happy if I could afford it, haha.

Yes, I enjoyed the Boat Test review as well. Thanks for posting that TG98. Lot of cool features and innovations. Covered fuel filler ports on both sides...what a novel idea!

The European style is slowly growing on me. Wish the deadrise were 22 degrees vs 20. Regardless, I think you would look good in this SG. Take me for a ride when you do. :D

I like how every boater on their website is wearing a dress shirt or a full suit. I can see how these will appeal to a certain segment, but Cobalts seem more versatile for families, etc. while not sacrificing much in the way of comfort or class. I suspect Cobalt is keeping an eye on these guys to see if they come up with anything interesting.

I just ordered my boating tuxedo. Wish me luck on my negotiating skills! I’m thinking a Buck 50 will get it done 🤪.

Sorry that boat is just ugly. I'll stick with being a Cobalt snob.

Me too! I was going to post that exact thing BB, and then I just figured I'm being a persnickety snob...

The lines of a Cobalt is what drew me to the brand in the first place. If I saw one of these going by the first thing that would come to my mind is how ugly it is, and if this is the new design trend, I'll stick with what I have.

I do like some of the interior features though. But the stadium seating in the back is whack. Who want to sit on a bar stool on a boat?

I like it. But agree with A7 that a deeper deadrise would be ideal. The A29 was confirmed as only a single engine yes?

It does look alot like the A29.....

I like when new boat companies spring forth! Well Mastercraft isnt new but obviously this model is.

Sorry, those bar stools are dumb, and I doubt anyone I know would want to sit on them. Might be okay for the target audience as they have a giant stick up their butt anyway and don't want to lean back and relax.

Listen, I like this thing for the same reasons that I like the Porsche Cayenne: all those SUV sales provide money for Porsche to build things that matter, like the GT3. :D
