Red does look nice, but I think it goes best with a Tahoe (Gray) interior, which I decided against earlier - thinking it looked a bit “cold”. The other thing I’ve noticed is that unlike your boat and my 210, the hull colour doesn’t wrap around the end of the hull, but rather stops before the “end caps”. So, for example, if I pick a black hull colour with a red edge stripe, when I look at the boat from the side I see some white at the end, this is cured by adding colour to the bottom. You can see the colour cut off line if you look at the R5 picture in this thread. I wonder why cobalt did this. I wonder if it makes the hull look “unfinished” without a bottom colour?

because I have to stop somewhere and there is likely an R3 (or R5) Surf in my future (3 -4 years), I think I'm going to be fine with the 350. :)
So next year 😂😂😂

Thanks, That is a super clean (and classic) look that I may also consider, but with an edge stripe. It's just will many of the boats coming with a coloured hull, I was concerned that a white hull might look a bit plain. I do note that Cobalt uses a white hull with a black edge stripe in its marketing materials and I don't think they would if it didn't show well.

It's such a big decision (for me). I had no colour choice when I got my 210 last year (Ebony/Citrin stripe) and I didn't like the colour at first, but it really grew on me. I've got a bit of time, so I'll keep looking at pictures of boats sitting on dealer's lots.

Yeah my wife and I had the same problem. So when we saw this one on the lot with the exact options we wanted. We just made a deal on it instead of going through the ordering process. And I am glad we did. We would still be indecisive about the color and not having a boat the first 2 months of our boating season.

I think the classic colors will always be around. What worried me is how long will the tri-colors be in style. It is rather new thing and not very many builders do them. Unless it is a surf boat.

I’ve really grown on blue with a yellow stripe. The yellow may be a bit “flashier” than the sandstone I ordered, but it’s a combo that seems fun and cheery. Maybe next boat...

I saw an Ebony/Sandstone (R7) online at Lodder's Marine, with a video as well as pictures: http://loddersmarine.com/inventory/Cobalt-R7-6831310/

It has a pretty nice look to it and is a bit more understated than the "Knock Out Red" bootstripe. I think the Sandstone is more prominent in person though as all of the pictures I've seen, seem to be a bit darker than when viewed in person.

They show it with a black tower, but I had preferred a white tower, which I thought looked lighter. The Lodder boat looks good with the black tower though as the boat shows alternating colours: Black (tower), White (topsides), Black (hull), White (bottom). I think the white tower would be OK too, but many of the towboat towers I see are black.

If I don't really like the shade of Navy when the dealer uncovers their R3 for me next week, I'll just order a black boat with either Sandstone or red edge stripe. It's a classic look and while more maintenance to take care of, its probably not much more work than a Navy hull. While I like the 3 colour hull, the way I'm feeling this morning, the 3 colour hull might just be a bit too much.

But ... who knows how I'll feel about the colour thing in an hour. :)

After seeing the R3 in Navy this morning, I’ve concluded it isn’t the right colour for me. So, it will either be a black hull with red edge stripe or. Black hull, white edge stripe and red bottom. Of those colour combinations, which would you choose?

Right or a white boot stripe. Between bobrae and sailor I'll have 2 good ones to choose from. 430 while we're talking about it again. Lol
