Got a call from our neighbor. Seems like the wind pulled one of the shore anchors out and the dock got sideways against the shore. Needless to say a few anxious moments on the drive to the property to see if there was any damage. The dock installer is going to come out this week and put the dock back where it belongs and resecure it.

That would suck. I take it your boat wasn't in the slip. I see the jet ski.
I guess they may need a few more anchors. Yecks. Still a beautiful dock.

Jeesh that sucks on a new dock. Hopefully the tubs didnt get too beat up on the bank. I'd sure have them take a look for any holes or damage. You would never know if they need to be replaced with them under the waterline.

Does the water level fluctuate much on your lake? Most of our docks have steel stand-offs that secure them to the bank and allow the structure to go up and down. Some of the older docks have cross cable ties and sea anchors, but those have to be maintained. The stand-offs work sooo much better for a permanent solution.

Sorry, been out of touch for the last two weeks. The lake does fluctuate over the season. Right now it is above full pool since we have had so much rain here. They try to keep it there through September.

Since this is a Corps of Engineers lake I can't permanently attach the dock, it has to be anchored to the shore and able to move in and out as the water level changes. It usually drops about 5 to 7 feet in the late fall and winter. But I'm on some pretty deep water near the shore, so i'm hopeful I won't have to move mine unless we get a drought like we had in 2007-2008 where they dropped the levels over 20 feet.

They still have not been out to move it back. Heading there today to see how everything looks. I am concerned that the floats may have been damaged.
