Starting the process of getting a new boat. Looking at the 200/210 series form Cobalt. Perfect boat for me and wife on Illinois river/ lake system. Last boat was Bryant 210 so what’s the scoop on the Cobalts in this size. What has been everyone’s experience. The boats at our dealer are all VP in the V6 240/280 range. Most SX drives, one Dp. Do any of you have drives with
cat converters. That’s new since I’ve last had a boat. Thanks

We bought a 210, in part for the extra room and in part for the second captain’s chair. No big deal with the cats, and the 280 in particular will be nice with the dp outdrive. I bought the old v8-225, and am still keeping my eyes out for an ecu flash to make it a v8-300

This is my 4th boat,1st duo prop & 1st Volvo. Had 4, 6, & 8 cylinders before, all Mercruiser. Love my boat/engine set up now. The new gen 5 engines are amazing. My advice would be to “test drive” 1st, especially if you are unsure about power. You may be surprised. Also, have been totally satisfied with Cobalt quality. You can look at pics on this site at Cobalts 20 yrs old that look like they just came off showroom floor.

I bought at 2016 210 new last season with a V6/280 DP. It get out of the water in under 3 seconds and has great midrange power. My top speed was about 46. I was wary of getting the V6, but found it to be a very good performer overall. As for the boat itself, I can't say enough good things about it. Quality build, roomy and rides great through moderate chop. I traded it on an R3 which will be delivered late June. If you are looking for a good used one, PM me.

You wouldn’t even need to look at it. It’s on a trailer and I’m thinking it can be had for under $45,000 with 30 hours on it. $2,500 and it’s delivered to you.

I assume you're on the lower river? Being a Chain boater I feel your pain, but the marinas are bumping right now, people are getting boat fever because of the lakes being closed/no wake, so instead of using what they have, they are trading up. I wouldn't count on any wiggle room during prime boating months, even if you can't actually go boating.
