Stern walkthrough cushion 2006 226

Just bought my 226 - previous owner had all three pieces for the stern walkthrough area After installing the three pieces so there is no walkthrough which I like because of the extra seat is it correct that I cannot lift the engine cover without taking the two pieces off for the back of the seat and top area? If so I’m bummed - only alternative is to use the bottom of the seat only.
