Track day in the Tesla Model 3

The UTQG rating on the Pilot 4s is 300AAA all season, hardly a performance tire. The Dunlop Direzza Z3 is a 200AA Ultra high perfromance summer tire, which makes it a perfect summer/track day tires.

300 AA A is the correct rating but the 4s is not an all season. The Michelin Performance All Season is the A/S 3+. I had the A/S 3's on my last BMW they did ok in the cold, never drove them in the snow.

I have the A/S 3+ on my Tesla and they are not acceptable in the snow and downright scary in some types of snow. I had to make the switch to winter tires in January after a couple close calls. I’m running the A/S 3+’s for the summer as they have some life left in them and then next spring will upgrade to some summer high performance tire.

Yeah - we don't get a ton of snow in KY, on the days we do I avoid the cluster F that is Louisville rush hour in the snow and just work from home. I was more worried about the PS4's is cold temps, those we do get. I have heard even on dry pavement they suck below about 50 degrees. Was that your experience?

I had the Pilot super sports on my '14 mustang GT. I loved them. If you continue to do track days I would highly recommend those over going to a race tire.

I have these on my M3 ZCP. My home track is short and very twisty, they handle the changing weight dynamics quite nicely...and wear fairly well for having the crap beat out of them.

And, great pics and stories, btw. Gotta love Grocery getters and electric cars on the track.
