Mooring cover R7
Best place to get a mooring cover? Trying to stay away from dealer , however having him price one. Would like high quality, and close to OEM if possible. I have a fixed arch so will have to fit around that. I looked on past posts and saw Westland was a good place, but my boat is 2016 and for some reason they don't offer that year.

Spend the money on the oem. They are amazing. Takes 2 minutes to put on and goes around your arch and swim platform. Worth every penny

Re: Mooring cover R7
Are there any dealers on here who will order these online for you with the standard 20-30% discount (and/or has them in stock?) My dealer wants MSRP and 6-8 week lead time for the R5 cover...
Re: Mooring cover R7
The 6-8 week lead time is the time for Commercial Sewing to make one. Just talked to the dealer about this exact thing. So unless you can find a dealer willing to give you a mooring cover out of a floor model new boat, you are going to have to wait the 6-8 weeks.

Re: Mooring cover R7
Just take it to a custom canvas shop and get one made exactly how you want it, likely for less than the OEM one.
This seems like a very common question with Cobalt owners which is puzzling to me. For what the boat costs why would you want a generic semi-universal cover when you can get a fully customized cover for a couple grand?

I've had three awesome customs covers made at Edward's Canvas in Paul's Valley OK, all for less than $1,000, but the boat has to be there. Soo, hopefully this post will benefit our Okie or North Texas members.

YT - how gross does the boat get where the arch openings in the cover are? I would think that's gotta be a magnet for dirt and leaves.Ytmsn wrote: Wed Jul 10, 2019 7:44 am I've had three awesome customs covers made at Edward's Canvas in Paul's Valley OK, all for less than $1,000, but the boat has to be there. Have you seen any fading on the arch, being exposed all the time?

It does get nasty, so I'm thinking in the off season I'll take it back to have an additional cover made for the arch. Especially to keep the spider poop of while its sitting in the slip. As far as fading goes I buff the entire boat each spring with swirl remover and then wax to cover any oxidation from the summer, including the arch.
