Sounds like your wife and kids need a lesson in fun! lol I'm the wife that LOVES it and I'm always flipping the switch on! Love the sound! My nieces and nephews all under the age of 15 love it too!
Haha, we enjoy our boat to get "rid" of our headaches, not to get one. :D

Isn't it funny how differently we all use our Cobalts. T, I see you on a nice day trip relaxing as you cruise around with your wife or friends serenely enjoying the beautiful sites. Almost like living out the famous boating quote from "Wind in the Willows".

We on the other hand look for maximum kids and adults to go with us --and the louder the better. Tunes cranking; kids dancin' & jumpin' ; 4-5 tubes pullin'; exhaust roaring!

Man I love this pastime!

Our deal is pretty close to that, although we usually rip the sound system when we're under way.
BTW, The new premium sound is worth every penny.
My wife and I differ on music, and ofcourse she wins. So it's an endless array of pop music with a healthy dose of Bruno.
I'd rather listen to Tool, older Godsmack or Alice In Chains, it I constantly get overruled.

We'll cruise with friends for miles. We like to run the boat at a good clip. After a while, we toss the anchor and have a few drinks and maybe some stuff from the deli. Shrimp, chips, a few dips and maybe cocktails, although I usually stick to water. I'm not a big drinker. Later, we'll hit either Canalside in Buffalo, or the Erie Canal for dinner.

A few years back, everything revolved around our kids and their friends. We dragged the whole neighborhood on a tube behind our boat, swam and took everyone out for food and ice cream.
Things change with as time marches on. Those were fun, fun times...

I would do a CC with mufflers. The rear exit would keep the sound away from the bow. I might do it down the road if I get board with the boat. I like the sound when cruising in a wake free zone, but this boat seems loud enough when underway. I don't think I want to add to it. Definitely waaaay louder than my old Merc.

Going out today!

Great to know,T. We are kindred spirits.

Our 263 does have the premium sound system (our 262 did not) with added amps and sub. Would like to add tower speakers down the road though.

Sounds like I'm not far behind you in life as the kids are getting older and cannot coordinate their schedules as easily. We've gone from 12-15 souls on the boat down to 4-10. Thus the cuddy now over the BR. They always enjoyed that feature at the boat shows. Still jammin' tunes and rockin' exhaust though. Again, you and I WILL get together sometime in the future after we settle into this beast and make sure any bugs are worked out.

Shipping with new CC installed tomorrow!👍👍😎

It looks like a new exhaust is not in my future. For what it costs there is absolutely no return other than sound. Guess I'm going to have to put a card in my spokes.

Depending in a Cobalt it can help or hurt resale.
You can't add it and worry about a return or how much it is.

For me I searched for switchable first in my latest quest for a Cobalt as most my boats have had it..
I had some with permanent ( no y pipe switch) and I would only have switched.. or as we call it conversation mode"
The ability to add out the back as Asl has done on his 263 is a good investment.

Resale value is a valid point as it does create a sport boat sound with plusable gains in performance..

On the other hand the Cobalt's lines don't need the noise to get the wow factor either..

Ok I'm torn now.. but for anyone who likes it the price is long forgotten after having it switched on at 3800 rpm is remembered..

CC - never had it. Never wanted it. Plenty of hot rod boats around here have it and pretty cool on the right boat I've always thought. I guess I come down on the side of if I'm gonna make that muscle sound I better be able to back it up! I don't want Bubba and 3 fishing buddies loaded with 12 fishing rods and gear passing me in his, or her (gulp) center console with twin or triple 300's (and there's a crapload of those here) while I'm CCalling myself around the inlet. That said, yeah I'm not putting hushy pipes on my Harley fatboy! (Which I don't have!).

But I have a friend that was wondering what a nice perfect condition low time fatboy goes for up in WI?

I did BB. CC installed and other options complete.
Took many bids from haulers. Found one with whom I really bonded and could not pass up. Timing worked out perfectly as well. Thank you though for your help.

Why doesn't military let you borrow C5 and go get it? U get hour and boat and Las Vegas gets whatever you drop off. Don't tell me you didn't ask. At worse you could stap it to top of your normal plane like a shuttle transport plane.
