Upgrading From 1999 226 - Same/similar length sought - Suggestions

I am looking to upgrade from my 1999 226. Seeking a 10 year old Cobalt with better ride characteristics. My 226 is a bit rough in the common helter-skelter chop of Canyon Lake, TX. 1 to 2 foot of chop caused by other boats. I was thinking maybe a 222 or 220. I would like to keep towing weight at about 6k, since I am towing with a properly equipped 2017 AWD Durango, 6 Cyl, electric over hydraulic trailer brakes and Anderson Weight Distribution hitch. Or, perhaps a Cobalt 232, maybe a 2012 model. Thoughts? Would the ride be smoother? I am guessing yes...21 degree transom deadrise vs. 226's 20 degree deadrise.

Yes the 220 will work, the 222 will ride better but if you like the handling of the 226 on can water you may not like a 222, the 232 will ride like the 222 pretty much the same hull. Some say it is the same hull.
