Trailer Light Help

Post by Atl Cobalt »

I can't figure out how to replace the light bulb in one of the trailer brake/turn signal lights. More specifically, I can't figure out how to get the cover off. I don't want to break it, but the only thing I can figure to do is to cut it to separate the lens from the housing. The trailer is a dorsey brand trailer made for the 226.

Has anyone had experience with these? I have attached some pictures of the housing.

Never mind. Apparently they are not serviceable and have to be replaced as a unit. :(

Perfect time to switch that over to the led unit.

It is a sealed unit. Any auto parts store should have it. You can also replace it with a direct replacement LED that will be brighter.

Click on page 23 and page 24 of this thread, Atl Cobalt. You might want to switch over to the cool looking LED's. :D

Thanks for the advice. I bought a cheap temporary fix. I definitely plan to upgrade to the LEDs. :)

Wow, that tail light is awesome. Is that a reversing white light? I might have to spring for something like that, I'm always backing the boat up in the dark at the end of the day.

The outer ring is the driving light and the center is the turn/brake light. No reversing lights.

I just switched to these this weekend. Plug and play with my old ones. 13 bucks for both
