I like what you've done. I have a 220 of 2003 vintage. No real estate for GPS mounting, although I have imagined something similar with a suction cup mount, hanging the unit just over the front of the dash edge above the top line of instruments. I love a GPS plotter, especially at night.

Hey Mike, I have not have good luck with the suction cup mounts. I have a black mooring cover and the suction cup used to come loose in the heat. I think others on the forum use them with success though. My setup is working great. I can adjust the mount for standing and sitting and it is not in the way of my gauges. Send me a pic of your dash and I’d be happy to provide my 2 cents !

I was considering mounting a smallish GPS unit so it just hangs over the edge of the top of the dash. I wonder if the RAM mount can be attached in that low angle area between the windshield and the dash somewhere near the middle of the dash...it'd be tough to drill holes there I know.

Hey Mike, that may be a good position however as you mentioned it would be more challenging to drill holes there. You could use a ram mount to get the correct angle no problem. Let me know what you end up going with. Good luck!

Here's a pic of my dash. Not the best but you can tell that the clearance is limited just like every other boat of this type.
But I would like it centered and just hanging in front of the edge of the lower edge of the dash. I think the RAM mount can be configured to do this.

Is that a tilt wheel? Photo G mounted his right above the wheel and it looks good. May be the only solution with your dash config.

Looks pretty good.
Where did you mount the transducer?
How do you like the chart plotter function?

I didn't mount a Transducer. It is only gps/chart plotter. I like the chart plotter function . I haven't fouled a prop after I installed it.

I fouled a few spark plugs in my day but never a prop? Is that a South side thing 😂😂😂

I mounted my Hook-7 above the steering wheel, primarily because there were two factory screws there. Looking at Mike's dash, that's probably not an option because of the (sharp looking) leather strip above the wheel.

Doesn’t your throttle hit it there? It does on my 252...I also wanted to mount it in front of the wheel, but it interferes with the tilt function. Looked good though, still might put it there if I can’t get this iPad to work better.
