Man I love the weight but hate the cost. This technology will make its way down to the mass markets eventually though. Looking forward to that day as battery technology continues to evolve. 👍🏻

No, pricey would be $300 to $500 for a battery. $3,400 is just plain stupid.

Amazing..
No one explained to her she’s going to be stuck in valet mode
No one explained to her that Tesla has a app on the phone that allows operating the car if you lost the fob or want to loan it out remotely?
She’s special...

Tesla is at least 5 years ahead of everyone else in EV drivetrain efficiency. No kidding.

Bought one of these (lithium) for my Harley, so far it's been great. You don't
really need to keep a float charger on them, as they only lose 1%-2% of
their charge per month. And the slightly higher voltage spins the starter
that much faster. Weight reduction is a big plus, and the ad says lithium
batteries will last longer (waiting to see about that). But I do see that deep
cycle, high cranking amp lithium batteries are prohibitively expensive, for now.

I have one in my dirt bike too. Weight advantage, no voltage loss, yadayada. I can hit the button and spin it up a tad, then let it sit a second while it creates more juice (somehow) then light her up. It costs about twice what a regular battery costs, but that's still justifiable in that application, trying to save a few pounds on a dirt bike.

But $3400 for a car battery is frickin insane.
