I appreciate the offer, don't think it's necessary though. I'm not concerned about the lift being in good shape as it's a newer model....just concerned with the time, effort, and expense it will take to get it home.

The deal in Vegas is off, marina never got back to me so I had to call and apparently they were going to charge me $800 to pull the lift but then someone else wanted to buy it so they never called me back. Just as well, that deal was getting worse by the minute. Hoping with end of season approaching that something local will pop up. I stopped by my marina's sales office this past weekend and told the guy there I'm going to start calling him every week and he just laughed and said ok. Fingers crossed. Worst case, if I haven't found anything by March next year when bonus season hits, maybe I'll be able to buy a new one.

So, I have a 10k lift installed in my slip, set up for back-in.. planning on getting the boat on the
lift in the next week. This is my first experience with a lift (older hydro-hoist, fiberglass tanks,
in a 12x32 foot slip).

I was trying to figure out a good mooring setup so that once I'm backed in, the ropes would hold
the boat at the correct position for the lift to pick it up "just right"... any tips, advice, or interesting
experiences anyone would share?

Got the ropes set to position the boat for lifting, the boat on the lift, and and
the mooring cover back on the boat. Now, just need more practice backing into
the slip. Only glitch is that the skeg doesn't quite clear the front bunk when the
outdrive is in the vertical position, so have to remember to tilt up a bit before backing.

Next, I need a dock box.

Looking good Ok. You’ll get the back in down plus I always trim up for keeping the drive out of the water. You’ll get it down. Just like using a trailer for retrieving.

I've never really tried to back into a stall. Our water again is too shallow so our drives are up 3/4 of the way when docking.
You lose a ton of control. I was amazed at YT's docking skills. He stick it in a 10ft slip like no ones business. Myself I would have done it nose in.
