Summerize Summerize Summerize

Post by Big Block Power »

Getting ready for spring. Time change tomorrow night and boating in a few weeks. Lol ok 2 months.
So ordered up a few maint items.
1-Impeller even though it's only got mane 35 hits in 2 years it's still 2 years old. I'll save the old one for a spare.
2-New fuel filter.
3-Then a pair of fuses for my death certificate.
4-I'll have to repack the starboard side of my trailer this year. Port side was done last year. Don't ask!
5-Need to redo my bunk carpet. I put that off too long anyway. Duct tape isn't going to hold much longer. Lol
6-Replace tstat. Has 140 from factory replacement 160 per bulletin.
7-Get the stereo upgrades done. Drilling holes next week.
8-Install reflashed ECU
9-Install labbed props!! 😁😁😁
10-dunk the boat!!!!!!

I like your list BB. Ecu Programming and Prop work is going to be huge! Goes with your bazillion watt upgrade.

Things I have done in December.

Drive oil changed, and all new o rings yearly (thank you Volvo for no reservoir..geeeze)
Impellers replaced.
Fuel filters.
Oil Service.
Topped off all Out-drive Trim..Rear Tabs, and steering Reservoirs (This is done hanging upside down as there is Noooo Room)
Fuel system Stabilized.
.
My Summerize list.

Hand wax Bottom with Polymer Bio-Kleen (anti-swamp yellow prevention).
Complete Detail with Polymer on sides .
One more interior UV Moisturize protection.
Repair snaps in Mooring cover, and add Leather fabric Shield for ladder contact (so it doesn't rub through).
Add a yearly Coat of teak oil to Platform, and entry (needs to be done outside for UV dry at 65 DEG).
.
Burn a Candle for the Boat Gods.

I’ve got it real difficult this year..

1. Call the dealer and say put my boat on my lift
2. Drop boat in the water 😜😜😎😎

Bigblock, what's the story with your reprogrammed ECU? Who did the work? I'd still love someone to do a quick flash on my ECU to bump me up to a V8-300...

My list is getting too long because I know we won't get a spring, it's going to go from 40* to 80* overnight like it has the last couple years.

replace steering cable/steering wheel
install retuned ECU
install redone/cupped props
install drive shower
fix trim limit switch (trim up doesn't work, need to use trailer mode)
replace impeller (2 years old)
full detail including trailer
install porta potty
setup new fenders w/adjustable fender clips
remove old Registration numbers
design/cut new vinyl for registration numbers & Name
oil change
water/fuel separator change
grease trailer bearings

Also, I need to summerize my old boat and get it listed for sale...

I have the same ecu acrofibia (FIB) has. Just kidding.
Is a Mefi 4 Ecu. There are so many guys that play with these. They use them in gm cars too too fuel inject the old cars with new engines and fuel systems. I have three scanner software for my engine. So if it needs tweaking this summer they can tap into my laptop and see what my engine is doing and adjust the tune of needed from California.
ObD diagnostics in California is dying out for me.
I heard Volvo had a update for mine years ago. It was to prevent a stall coming to a idle from cruise. Mine will stall about 3 times a year and it's never when you expect it or a good time. Plus with the new pros I am having them make them spin a little higher rpm so I'm raising the rpm fuel cut off. I'm having them raise base idke 25rpm because it's just a hair low. Which might also fix my idle stall problem. Then I'm having them tweak it to get some ponies out of it.
Drop them a email.

Can't wait for you to drive up here. That would be fun. At least you wouldn't have to dodge all the snowmobiles that sunk.

If we get the flooding they're predicting down here I'll have to come up there just to get my boat wet. Either way, we should make it happen!

My list from last March:
Go to boat show.
Find our new boats are too expensive.
Search used boats.
Eliminate all but Cobalts.
Search Cobalts.
Can't find one I like for the asking price.
Sell old boat.
24 hour panic about not having boat.
Buy new Cobalt even more expensive than CS22 at boat show.
Don't look back.

Hahaha sounds like my January.
Mine went the following:
Get quote for full interior job on 262. Try to pick jaw up off the floor.
Contact Dealer and price out new boat. Still trying to pick jaw up off the floor. Tell dealer to find me a slightly used one.
Remember old boat broke on me twice during the season and think spend $$ on current boat that could break again or buy new one.
Let dealer sweat thinking you are interested but not that interested
Price a couple used ones and realize it isn't much more for a new one
Feb comes around dealer drops their pants on the boat and you sign the paper work.
Sell old boat and don't look back.

It has been a hell of a first season. At almost 70hrs and nothing but smiles from the Captain and first mate :D

We finally went out with our delivery captain a couple weeks ago.
He said it's great to see people buying boats and using them.

Last weekend, we left lake with 75+ hours.
We might have 3 more weekends before we shut her down.

So I had a mix of oil/fuel go through my merc fuel system for winterization (I have the cool fuel module). Should I run a bit before changing my fuel filter to get that all out of system? Or do it before start 1st start up this spring?
