Perfect! Just clears top and bottom ( Off set would touch the drive)
I installed mine while on the hoist as well. Good work out!
Remember turn it on only under water as they heat up with the 8k version. Looking forward to some night shots!

Pretty sure the connectors are Deutsch connectors. Ordered a few to try this weekend. To properly crimp you need a custom and relatively expensive tool, but guessing there are other ways... we’ll see!
You can buy a pre-made pigtail with the connector already crimped. Then you only have to do a quick splice on the end of the light. I did this on my chartplotter and it worked flawlessly....about $7
Hey sailor. Welcome back again. I see you broke there code
Well, for a little while BBP....I talked to a buddy in IT and sure enough, it was the pop up ads (viagra, etc) that were triggering things or so they say.

Hey guys,
New to forum and looking for advice on connectors as I also have a boatplug light I'm getting ready to install. Boat is 2014 R3 and found the underwater light connector. However it is not a Deustch connector like you all are speaking about. Below are pics, cannot figure out what type it is and dealer didnt know either. Any Help???

Hey pris1094. Welcome to the Cobalt chat forum. So glad you found us!
Like BBP mentioned, that’s a molex connector.
Any pics of your Cobalt? We love them here. Feel free to start a new thread if you have the time. Great reading intros.
Again welcome aboard mate!

Hey guys just installed one of these a couple days ago and went fairly smooth.
It didn't light up the wake as much as I hopped while underway but not bad.
See if this video link works. https://photos.app.goo.gl/KpwX7DA5g8DnQKSK9
Also I get light flicker while in idle, not sure if it is from the prop movement? I figured I would reach out to drain plug and see what they think. https://photos.app.goo.gl/UZ3rvjUYrLyNvc1U9

Sorry for the old thread revival. Have one of these that I’m looking to install. Norris (and others), did you use the included voltage regulator when installing your light? Or did you just connect it via a Deutsch plug to the pre-wired swim lights wire? Also, did you figure out the flicker?
Wanted to Resurrect this threat. I have an 18' R7 Surf and would like to use the switch on the dash, ideally. I'd also prefer to just do a drain plug light opposed to drilling holes in the transom.

I followed Greenhuts thread and installed mine easily 2 weekends ago....got the light for Christmas and bought a cheap heat gun, some shrink butt connectors and some shrink tubing and start to finish had it wired into the harness in less than 45 minutes time.

Thanks for the information...
Since you did it recently which light did you go with as the one on Greenhuts original thread is no longer available. Also I too would prefer a single color (Blue) If it allowed for the "brightest" option.

I just drilled holes in my transom to install two Lumitec lights. It's really not that big of a deal. viewtopic.php?f=33&t=4953

007 I did the Quasar 2.0 low profile all in blue. I bought already pigtailed deutsch connectors on amazon and had the light itself wired to a connector (male) and then the female side wired to the included regulator. Also had the regulator power supply wired to a female connector so once I got to the boat it was just a matter of putting the light wire through the drain plug hole, finding it inside, plugging it into the regulator and then plugging the regulator into the starboard underwater light connector in the harness. Works great!
