Sorry no 8.2 HO in mine BB. Just the little VP 380... plus I had the 2’ itch twice in 3 three years so when we moved up to the R5 we went up 4.5’. I figured that would hopefully ward off the 2’ itch for a few extra years! Lol

Nope, I went from 21’ to 25’ and wish I had gone to 28’!

I am always looking too. Until the next time I get in mine. It'll have new seat cushions this summer too so maybe that will temper the itch.

Has any professional attempted to understand and treat the 2 foot itch disorder. I've had my R5 for a few months and 30 hours and I keep thinking "Should I have waited a for a 262?" The dealer by me has a 262 WSS and it takes all of my willpower to not talk to them about a trade, but if I'm going to do that, why not just do an A28 which I really love. My only limit is motors. I have no interest in two motors. I would rather drop a chunk on bow thrusters, but maybe two motors wouldn't be a deal breaker. Well, if I can live with two motors, then....

The WSS series is by far one of my most favorite. But a R5 to a 262 umm I would prob go to the R7 or rrrrr8

Well so much for water sports then. If our situation was like that I would do a go faster boat.

Unless you're REALLY hardcore about water sports pretty much any boat can pull a tube, skis, or a wakeboard. I've ridden behind 60's trihulls, 19' Bayliners, and full blown tow boats, at my skill level I enjoyed the tow boat the most for riding, but spending time on it I wouldn't want it as my only boat.

While not an inexpensive solution, I had this thought: In the off season, find someone on the forum who is has the same part on their boat and see if you can borrow it. Take it to a place that has CAD/3D printing capabilities and have them scan the part and print you a new one.

I was watching an automotive restoration show last night ("Wheeler Dealers") and that is what they did to manufacture a sunroof part on a 1970's Mercury Capri.

The other option might be to find the part on ebay or in a boat junkyard (if there is such a thing)?

There is a boat boneyard I drive by from time to time over on Grand Lake. Next time I'm by there I'll t.f ake a picture. It's really pretty amazing!
