It appears someone is having a slow day, or at least a slow morning.

B we got down to 21° last night. I know, I know, that's a heat wave for you cheeseheads. But yesterday it was 72°!! And then we had rain, thunderstorms and tornadoes scattered around the state until the cold front hit. I walked into a convenience store for a few minutes, and the temp went from 72 to 57. BOOM. And it continued to drop to a low (here) of 21 with snow, ice and wind.

But tomorrow the high is 52!

Brings to mind one of my favorite weather statistics... for Oklahoma, anyway...

On November 11, 1911 (remembered easily for now as "11/11/11"), the afternoon temperature in
Oklahoma City reached a record high for the date of 83, before plunging 66 degrees to a record low
of 17 at midnight that evening.

On November 9, 1911, a blast of arctic air invaded the northern plains, sending the temperature at Rapid City, South Dakota, from 55°F at 6 am to 3° by 8 am. The front pushed eastward on November 10 and 11, when a low pressure formed along the cold front over Missouri, sucking very warm and unstable air into the lower Great Lakes region. Violent tornadoes broke out in Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Wisconsin. An F4 twister decimated Janesville, Wisconsin, killing 9 people and injuring 50. The Janesville tornado struck at 9 pm on November 11; by midnight, blizzard conditions raged and the temperature had fallen from 70°F to 7°F (as measured in nearby Madison)

I took this screen shot last night. I can laugh about it now. I told BBP we had 3 seasons in about 16hrs. Tornado warnings, rain, freezing rain, then some good ole fashion thunder snow. Ugh is it spring yet? At least then I can cross off the snow part!

That storm was so hyped up it had people in a total panic, then it dumped a whopping 2"...They were forecasting up to 1" of freezing rain, then 6-8" of snow on top of it. Turned out to be barely enough to plow.

They hit it dead on in my region. It was supposed to be a heavy rain/flooding event with a little snow on the back end. We got 4-6in of rain and 3in of snow.

yup, kinda disappointing to be honest, other than the ice, I was looking forward to playing in the snow with the kids.

Agree, my snow fort building is way behind schedule. Its probably my own fault, I bought a new snowblower.

Agree, my snow fort building is way behind schedule. Its probably my own fault, I bought a new snowblower.

after last winter I finally bucked up and bought an electric blower. I've had enough with shoveling. We get on average less than 15inches a year total. So I bought one in hope of not having to use it this year. So far I've gotten to use it twice. And that is 2 times too many.
